Nature in Art

This magnificent house, which plays permanent host to a fine collection of art, can be easily found north of the historic city of Gloucester.  'Wallsworth Hall' is owned and managed by the Nature in Art Trust, and is a registered charity.

The exhibition space is also a registered museum, and is dedicated entirely to the art, sculpture and photography of Nature.

The art museum contains many magnificent sculptures and paintings throughout its many large gallery rooms.  The collection includes this wonderful painting or elephants by David Shepherd, above, as well as work by the late Simon Combes - the acclaimed Gloucestershire wildlife artist who was killed in a tragic accident whilst in Africa in 2004.

Nature in Art is more than just a museum and gallery space.  It is a focal point for artists on a national level to showcase their work through a rolling programme of special exhibitions.  There are art courses available, and each week there is a different 'artist-in-residence' working in their studio.

Members of the public who visit Nature in Art have a splendid opportunity to see art created on site, encompassing painting, textiles, printmaking, woodcarving and ceramics.

The enclosed grounds of Wallsworth House include gardens bedecked with many sculptures, some by local artists like the metal sculptor Alan Jack based in nearby Longlevens:

Other Events

On top of the art courses already mentioned, Nature in Art holds a variety of other events.  There are free lunchtime talks, films and demonstrations on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. evening events, children's activity days during the holidays, a 'renowned' schools service with dedicated facilities and staff and a Christmas Gift Fair on 29th-30th October.  There is also the Wallsworth Art Group (WAG) attached to the venue which exhibits regularly.

Nature in Art  is about 2 miles north of Gloucester on the Tewkesbury Road (the A38).
